The NSW Government has announced that our state has passed the 70% double vaccination target. As a result, there will be an easing of a number of restrictions as part of the release of lockdown Today, Monday 11 October 2021.
From this date the NSW Building and Construction Industry, will no longer be the subject of Public Health Order requirements designating Local Government Areas (LGAs) of concern or the need for workers to be authorised to leave LGAs to go to work.
There will be no Public Health Order requirement for construction workers to be vaccinated in order to work on occupied or unoccupied construction sites. This also means that the restriction of a maximum of 2 workers working indoors at an occupied site will be lifted.
Workers will also be permitted to carpool, provided that those workers are fully vaccinated.
Additionally, travelling between Sydney and Regional NSW is allowed for work purposes, without requiring a permit.
Although the easing of restrictions, it should be noted that face masks will continue to be a requirement in the workplace as well as QR codes, where they currently apply to workplace settings.
Once the fully vaccinated rate reaches 80%, which is now anticipated to be reached by 18 October 2021, the NSW Government may advise of the further restrictions to be lifted.

NSW Health has also published their operational guidance for Contact Risk Assessment for community and workplace settings.
